As the mother of two boys the Disney princesses have never held their interest. But my kids have always loved going to Disney’s Hollywood Studios where they can see Woody, Buzz, Indiana Jones, and the ever-popular Darth Vadar. Cinderella is nowhere to be found. Did you know that you can build a custom Star Wars lightsaber at Hollywood Studios? Guests can create their very own design with thousands of unique possibilities or follow instructions for replicas from their favorite Star Wars’ characters. If you don’t want to carry your lightsaber for the rest of the day, have the store deliver it to your Disney resort for pick-up. You can also find a Build Your Own Lightsaber kiosk at Once Upon a Toy located in Downtown Disney.
New this year, guests are able to build their own Droid at the Star Wars Droid Factory. Here guests build their droid by combining 74 different parts in a variety of colors. Guests can build thousands of different combinations making each droid one of a kind. Droids can be topped with Mickey ears or Goofy, pirate, fedora or Yoda caps.
Star Tours continues to wow both young and old with new destinations and adventures. Your flight vehicle will transport you to a “galaxy far far away”. You might find yourself gliding through trees on Kashyyk, crossing the desert sands on Tatooine, blasting through a blizzard in Hoth or helping attack the Death Star!
Kids under 12 learn to use the Force at Jedi Training Academy. Under the supervision of a Jedi Master the kids learn and master the moves needed to battle Darth Vadar. During Star Wars Weekends you can test your wits before the Jedi Council.
In honor of Star Wars day, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is hosting “May the 4th Be with You” celebration today.
