A Fall Vacation to Disney
According to Lissa Poirot, editor of Family Vacation Critic, “September through November is Orlando’s low season, and a great time to visit”. Fall is one of the best times for a family to visit Disney. Disney often offers some of their best promotions during this time. In 2012 guests were able to book fall vacations to Disney with either Free Dining or room rate discounts. Many of my clients took advantage of the lower prices, cooler weather and lower crowd levels for their Disney family vacations.
One of the more popular events Disney offers during the fall is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party offers guests a chance to celebrate Halloween for an entire month. The party takes place in the Magic Kingdom on select nights from 7pm to midnight. The park is only opened to guests with party tickets. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite costumes and trick or treat at designated areas throughout the Magic Kingdom. Mickey’s Boo To You Halloween Parade is presented twice nightly, along with the special Happy Hallowishes fireworks. You can download an event guide by clicking here.
Clients do ask me if the party is worth the extra cost. I tell them it is definitely worth checking out at least once. The party does not change much from year to year so attending once is usually good for most families. One of the best advantages for attending is the lower crowd levels on rides. Most of the rides will be walk on. The crowds seem to be standing in line for the Character Meet and Greets. Many of the hard to find Disney Characters will be out during the party. Some of them will be in costume – Have you ever seen Piglet dressed up as a bee or Tigger the pirate? Snow White will have all her Dwarfs with her and Cinderella will be standing near her pumpkin coach.
So if your family wants a vacation with a good balance of mild weather, manageable crowd levels and lower costs, why not book a fall family vacation in Disney.
